Mobile Phones Should Be Allowed in School 5/5/2016
Today I will be arguing that mobile phones should be allowed in schools. Firstly, I’ll be arguing that phones help in some learning tasks, next I will be arguing that phones keep you safe, I’ll also be arguing they can be used as a reward and finally that phones can help you be more organized. I hope I can convince you that phones should be allowed in schools.
Firstly, I’m arguing that phones help in all learning tasks. One of the main tasks phones will help with is research. Clicking a few buttons on a phone is much easier than logging on to the computer and searching on the internet like you usually would, computers take too long. Phones will also help in other areas to like maths, you can use the calculator on your phone instead of having to get up, get a calculator and go back, a bonus is that calculators on phones are much easier to use. Also having a phone is like having a tiny computer in your pocket.
I will now be arguing that mobile phones can keep you safe. Say there is a bushfire, your parents will want to know that you are safe, so you can call them and let them know you have not been harmed by the fire. What about if you’re walking home from school and you get lost you can use the navigational apps on your phone to help you find your way back. Everyone knows that.
Next I’ll be stating that phones can be used as a reward. If students get their work done during the time they’re given the teacher could let them play on their phone as a reward. Most students will really want to play on their phone, so if they know when they finish their work they’ll get to play on their phone, it will encourage them to finish work on time or even earlier, therefore teachers won’t have to wait an eternity for student to finish their work.
Finally, I will be saying that phones will help you become more organised and less forgetful. Some of the apps on your phone can help you be more organized. For example, some apps will be able to remind you if you have something special to do at recess or lunch, some will help you get to school on time and others will help you plan out your day.
I hope I convinced you that mobile phones should be allowed in schools. Some of the reasons I argued were, phones help in your learning, phones can keep you safe, they can be used as a reward and they will help you become more organized. I hope my reasons have changed your mind about why phones should be allowed in schools.
